We love boondocking in Alaska and we love technology. That is why we were so excited to find the Goal Zero Yeti 400 and Nomad 20w Solar Panel on a recent trip to Costco. It turns out that Goal Zero is showcasing their products by doing a traveling road show to Costcos around the nation.
I came to Alaska for the first time when I was eight years old. My Grandpa was a pilot, he and my Grandma used to fly their Cessna 180 tail dragger to Alaska every year. The summer after third grade, my mom and I flew up in August and joined my Grandpa for the month. Alaska is truly an equal opportunity state when it comes to gender and is one of my favorite things about this place! In Alaska, we womenfolk are welcomed (perhaps, even expected) on outdoor adventures. We chop and carry firewood. If we live in dry cabins, we haul water. We hunt, fish, hike and get dirty! Nobody questions our physical fortitude, we are equal partners in these parts.

- I carry this bag in the RV all summer and in our SUV in the winter. You might think that seems excessive in the summer time, but you’d be surprised. I spend a lot of time in fleece socks and thermals up here, year round.
