Our day starts before the sun rises and we hit the first bump in the road. The Metro doesn’t start running until 6 and it’s 5:15. The streets are empty, but somehow we find two taxis to take us to the airport so we can rent a van. In true traveling fashion, it also took us 45 minutes to find the rental desk. We’ve come to expect these types of delays when traveling abroad, it’s all part of the experience!
There are a couple way to reach Troia from Istanbul, the long way and the longer way. We choose the long way which involved taking a ferry across the Dardanelles.
If these stones could talk, what would they say? We ask this every time we visit a historical site. You mind can drift off for hours when you listen to what they have to say.
We took a short break to play tourist in front of the Trojan Horse replica.
On our last day in Turkey we decided to do a little shopping. We found the most amazing shopping district behind the Spice Bazaar. Textiles are a great deal in Turkey.
Later that evening we got together with Aydin and Hilal to say goodbye before we headed home.
